June is National Cancer Survivors Month
Today, more than 18 million people in the U.S. are living as cancer survivors. At South Sound CARE Foundation, we’re proud to support them by advancing research, education, and access to innovative treatment options.
One powerful example of this commitment is the Pierce County Cancer Survivorship Conference—a free, community-led event that brings survivors, patients, caregivers, and families together to share resources, education, and connection.
This year, Dr. Frank Senecal, was honored to speak at the conference, sharing insights on prevention, early detection, and the promising advances in cancer research that are bringing new hope to patients and families. His session drew more than 100 attendees—many of them survivors.
Organized by Cancer Survivorship Northwest (CSNW) and made possible through community donations and a dedicated network of volunteers and oncology professionals, this event is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when care and collaboration come together.
To every survivor, caregiver, and community member who shows up and supports this work—thank you. Together, we’re making progress, expanding options, and bringing hope home.
