Get to Know Natalie, CARE's Research Assistant!
Meet Natalie, CARE’s newest team member. With 11 years of oncology experience, including 6 years as Dr. Senecal’s Administrative Assistant at Northwest Medical Specialties, Natalie has recently taken on the role of Research Coordinator. Natalie is excited to dive deeper into research and support the community she loves, and we’re so thrilled to welcome her to our small, yet mighty South Sound CARE team!
What is your role at CARE?
My role at CARE is to support Dr. Senecal administratively and to screen patients to see if they qualify for any clinical trials CARE is connecting patients to in the PNW.
How did you get involved with CARE?
I have been fortunate to work with Dr. Senecal for the past 8 years in various nonclinical positions. When the opportunity arose to become more involved in the research side of operations, I couldn't say no; and I've always enjoyed learning new positions.
In your opinion, what sets CARE apart?
I think the most interesting part of CARE is the Compassionate Use trials they are able to provide for patients.
This work can be really difficult. What motivates you each day?
Our patients’ attitudes motivate me. Their positivity, hope, and faith are so encouraging.
What’s something that people would be surprised to learn about you?
I am a military spouse! With Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in our backyard, it’s so rewarding to know that CARE can also serve our military community.
What are some hobbies or favorite activities you enjoy outside of work?
Anything outside - hiking, waterskiing, reading, and anything to do with my two boys!
